Process Service

Mail or Fax (530-993-4900) us your court documents with a cover letter explaining who gets served, their address, and any other information on that subject. Provide us with a few extra copies of the service papers in case we have to do a mailing, proof or any number of things and a check for the amount we quoted you.
We will get it served and mail a Proof of Service back to you. After you receive this Proof of Service, it is your original copy to file with the court.

If you need this Proof of Service (Affidavit, Return of Service, etc.) notarized, let us know prior to sending your package to our office. Check with your local court rules on this one!

Addresses and Phone Numbers: Always provide us with a street name and number. Also, if you have it, a telephone number too. If you don't have an address, let us know so we can give you an accurate quote.

Service on numerous persons at one address: This is a frequently asked question. I am always asked to discount this type of service because the defendants and or witnesses are at one address. Believe it or not, it's 10 times harder to serve more than one person at one address. Why? Because now, they know who we are, why we are there, what we look like, and the defendants who weren't home earlier, now know that I am coming with a Summons. One look through the peephole after I ring the doorbell and there is no answer now.

Divorce Serves: These are highly emotional situations. Please, advise us of anything we should know about the defendant/respondant prior to us going into the field with your case. I know it's personal, but our safety and success in service depends on it. A picture of the respondant, is a major asset! If you have one, I highly recommend sending it. We will return it when the service is complete.

Temporary Restraining Orders: This is another highly emotional situation. Be prepared to pay a little more and send a picture or have a real good description of the respondant.
